ADMISSIONS
|

Admission is based on academic ability and probable success in the program.
The travel industry demands the most thorough preparation and professionalism of its members;
therefore, we encourage only those who are prepared to devote themselves to the program to enroll.

All applicants must submit:
- High school or equivalent grade transcripts
- Application for admission with registration fee
- A signed enrollment agreement
|

The admissions committee will review all documents and the applicant will be notified.
|

PLACEMENT
|
|
For the homestudy program, Travel Careers Institute will provide the graduates with a listing of ASTA approved agencies in your area.
The text, Getting That Job, will prepare you in resume writing and interviewing skills.
It is the student’s responsibility to conduct his or her own jobs search and obtain his or her own employment.

REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS
|
|
There are 5 textbooks in this course:
Travel Reservations, Leisure Travel, Geography - Western Hemisphere,
Geography - Eastern Hemisphere, and Fares and Tickets.
|
|
The sixth textbook corresponds to the online lessons. It reviews and reinforces the entries and concepts of
booking reservations on an airline computer system. The airline computer training is by the use of the
Internet. Each student is allowed 110 hours of either APOLLO or SABRE training. Additional hours can
be purchased for $3.00 per hour.
|
|
Students are assigned a personal ID code and password which permits access to the allocated web-based lessons.
Lessons include: Airlines Reservations, Automated Fares and Ticketing, Car Reservations and Hotel Reservations.
|
|
There are exams at the end of each book. The Travel Careers Institute will need to provide the name, address, and phone number
of their test administrator. Quizzes and tests are built into the web-based computer lessons.
The school director has access to test results. A certificate of completion will be issued with a
grade of 80% or better. Students have 1 year to complete the program.
|
|
The total cost of the home study program is $1,200.00 plus any mailing charge. Tuition must be paid in full prior
to the start of the program. Money orders and credit card payments will be accepted. No refunds will be given after
14 days from the date of purchase.
